Edmodo: The Social Network for Education!

Edmodo is an easy to use, very controlled, socail network for educators. I like it because of the privacy aspect between students and teachers-- teachers give studnts a code and they in turn join the respective group. Students do not have to divulge any personal information to join unless they want to, and you can now even enjoy edmodo on your iphone! E-mail me @ rhilliard@kaplan.edu if you would like the code for our new Computer Literacy Group! Here you will find a network of people in the same boat-- not to mention helpful docs and useful links...come and share your stuff!

Share the Love!

I am noticing more and more people on skype. For those that don't know this is another great communication tool for teachers and students-- especially for those international students that don't want to pay for international calls. Just look me up in the skype directory @ roey.hilliard and I will accept your contact and we have yet another amazing and fun way to communicate! This is a great tool for home use as well, we are having a blast sharing video and recording calls with Grandpa online! Let's Skype!

Google Scholar!

In education when you guide a student to the web, it is always followed up by telling students to make sure that they have found an appropriate academic link. Google has done it again with the release of Google Scholar-- click on the the type of source you want to investigate and search for your preference, or advanced scholar search! Very cool-- be sure to document your source at the end of your essay.

Share here with others a cool site you have found using this search engine!
